What is the issue?
The issue is that 783 Million people (11% of the Global Population) do not have access to drinking water.
Why did you choose your Fire Project?
I chose this topic after learning about the issue in my environmental science class. I was interested in learning how wars were started because of this issue and how certain companies and governments profited from it.
Why are you passionate about this issue?
This issue is important to me because I believe that natural resources such as water should be something that every human on earth should have access to and they shouldn't have to pay or die for something that is vital to human existence.
Why does your issue matter?
This issue matters because it affects human beings around the world especially those that live in underdeveloped countries. This matters because it has to do with one of our important if not most important human resource, water.
What do you hope to accomplish through this project?
I hope to use this project as a source of information and awareness and provide it to a wide range of people who are not yet aware of the problem concerning one of our most valuable natural resource.
Why is this issue so important to me?
This issue is important to me because I feel that it is my responsibility as a student at Social Justice High School to inform other student about this important issue. It is also important to me because it is something that is happening now in my time and it is affecting people from my generation.
What experience(s) have I faced in my life facing this issue?
I was raised in a home where everyone was very cautious about how much water was used and what it was being used for.
How might this issue be of critical importance to other people in the world who are different than me? Explain
This issue shouldn't just be important to those that are currently being affected by it, it should be important for all people that live off this natural resource. It is important to also know the causes and effects behind this issue because many people don't see the potential danger that can come when faced with this issue. Water shortages can occur anywhere in the world, not just in underdeveloped countries. Water is a vital importance to our everyday lives and exestince.
